Inspirations
Hopefully, you have read this post about my VR game that I've developed so far, as this is the basis I will be working on. From here on out, however, I will be focusing purely on the UI and interface of the game, as I want to effectively weave an interface into the world of this VR game. However, within that post, I don't believe I have properly covered what the inspirations for this project were in the first place.
To put it simply: The game series 'Armored Core' inspired me to make this game. As a child, I owned Armored Core 2 on the PS2 and loved it immensely. It is the game that made my love for Mechas. When Armored Core 4 released for the PS3, I played that and loved it just as much, if not even more. While Armored Core 2 gives me that massive wave of nostalgia you get, Armored Core 4 however, is much more intense and fast paced with it's gameplay. This is what I want to create in VR - the proper fast paced, high intensity mecha game for VR. Obviously, it can't be an actual Armored Core game, but it can certainly be inspired by it.
For some context on what I'm trying to achieve, here's some gameplay of AC4.
This is the type of gaming I'd like to emulate - however, this also serves as inspiration for the UI style I'd like to achieve. Armored core 4, For Answer, V and Verdict day all have similar UI styles that I would like to use as inspiration for my game. As it would achieve the goal of 'Armored Core but in VR'. It also gives me a strong frame of refernece, though I will have to do my best to avoid copying them completely.
